Careers

Our instructors work directly with teen drivers to help encourage, teach and inspire students as they work toward gaining their Oregon State Driver's License.

This position requires a clean driving record, an energetic attitude, some basic computer skills and a strong yet friendly teaching style. This position is approximately 10-20 hours a week based on student enrollment. We are also flexible with other work schedules.

No previous driving education experience or previous teaching experience required but candidates with previous experience working with or coaching teens are preferred.

All candidates must pass state and federal background checks and will be required to take the traffic safety course through Western Oregon University to become a state certified instructor (the course is local). Minimum requirements (OAR's) for such certification are listed here.

Please visit the Western Oregon University Instructor Training page for more specific information about the class and the schedule for future classes.

Please contact nancy.haase@hdesd.org for more information or to submit your formal resume and cover letter.
