Will I still have to take the drive test at the DMV?

Accepted Answer

No. As long as you are not 18 or have already received your license, High Desert Driver Education, an approved ODOT provider, will issue a certificate that waives the Class C drive test with the DMV. Students must successfully complete the driver education program with at least 80% to receive this waiver. The school will administer your final drive so you will not need to take the DMV driving test.

Will I receive a discount on my insurance?

It depends on your insurance company. You will receive an official ODOT waiver certificate or certificate of completion (for 18+ or licensed students), which may qualify for discounts. Students must complete all classroom and behind-the-wheel requirements with at least 80% to qualify.

What is required to pass the driver education course?

Accepted Answer

Students must attend all classes. Any missed time must be made up within 60 days of the final class. Students must complete all assignments, pass tests and driving evaluations with at least 80%. Disruptive students may be removed from the program without refund. Students with learning disabilities will be supported, but must demonstrate understanding of the curriculum.
